The Elaia Quartet was founded in 2020 and consists of Barbara Köbele, Çigdem Tunçelli Sinangil, Francesca Rivinius and Karolin Spegg. As a young ensemble, they have been invited to renowned festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and the Hambacher Musikfest, Mozartfest Würzburg, Ascoli Piceno, Podium Festival Esslingen and Ischgl Classics. Their Concert recordings have already been broadcast by NDR, BR, SWR, and RAI (Italy).They are prizewinners of the Zukunftsklang Award, the Irene Steels-Wilsing Competition, finalists of the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb and recipients of several scholarships. The quartet is also part of programmes like ECMA, Musethica and Villa Musica. Currently, they are studying with the Quatuor Ébène in Munich and have received artistic guidance from musicians such as Heime Müller, the Kronos Quartet, Cuarteto Quiroga and the Cuarteto Casals. The Elaia Quartet explores a wide repertoire, ranging from classical tradition to contemporary works.
