Formed in Montréal in 2024, Trio Timia brings together pianist Itamar Prag, violinist June Lee and cellist François Lamontagne. The trio received First Prize at the Chamber Music in Yellow Springs Competition, was awarded the Silver Medal at the 2026 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and reached the semifinals of the 2026 Osaka International Chamber Music Competition as one of eight piano trios selected worldwide. Trio Timia developed its artistic voice in residence at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, premiering a commissioned work by Yejin Kwon. The trio has performed on Music Toronto's Celebration of Small Ensembles series, the Music Room Chamber Players Series of the Scotia Festival of Music and the Bon-Pasteur Concert Series, and has appeared at Musique à Flaine. Coached by Violaine Melançon at the Schulich School of Music, the ensemble has also worked with Jinjoo Cho, André Laplante and Steven Isserlis. From September 2026 Trio Timia is ensemble in residence at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, studying with the Ariel Quartet.
