The Trio Liszt was founded in 2024 by three young Italian musicians trained at leading institutions including the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Juilliard School New York, Stauffer Academy Cremona, Accademia Chigiana Siena and Hochschule der Künste Bern. The Trio is currently mentored by Pierpaolo Maurizzi, Trio di Parma and Patrick Jüdt.
In 2026, the Trio won Third Prize at the 10th International Stasys Vaini?nas Chamber Music Competition in Vilnius and the Grand Prix at the 3rd Dragon Competition, resulting in a China tour in 2027. The ensemble is a member of Le Dimore del Quartetto and is supported by Thomastik-Infeld.
Its members have performed at venues including the Musikverein Vienna, Konzerthaus Berlin, Philharmonie de Paris, Flagey Brussels and Alice Tully Hall, New York.
The Trio?s repertoire ranges from Haydn to contemporary music, with a particular focus on Italian chamber music. A complete recording of Beethoven?s Piano Trios is in preparation.
Elia Chiesa plays a 1736 Nicolò Gagliano violin, while Luigi Visco plays a 1770 Giovanni Battista Genova cello.
