Reina Yoshioka (born on December 12, 1998, in Japan) is a violinist and composer based in Vienna. She studied violin with Elina Vähälä at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), graduating with distinction in 2025. Since 2022, she has been studying instrumental composition under Dietmar Schermann, Clara Iannotta, Mirela Ivičević, and Oscar Bianchi.
She has received numerous awards, including Third Prize in the Soloist Category at the Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition in Turin (2024), Fourth Prize at the International Emmanuel Durlet Violin Competition in Antwerp (2021), and Second Prize at the International Composition Award Vienna (2021).
In 2026, she was awarded the Ö1 Talentbörse Composition Prize.
Her compositions have been performed at venues and events including the Alte Schmiede Vienna, a chamber music concert of the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO Wien), and a concert dedicated to Lili Boulanger at the Musikverein Vienna. Additional performances of her works have taken place at the Gala Concert celebrating the 150th anniversary of Fritz Kreisler’s birth, the Hidden Harmonies concert at the Musikverein Graz, and the Echoes of Tradition Recital in Malaysia.
Since July 2025, she has been a member of the Orchestra Academy of the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO Wien).
